Here are a few random facts about me:

1. I met my husband 12 years before we got married. And the first time he asked me out, I said “no”! But about 6 1/2 years later, it was quite a different story! He is my best friend and my perfect partner for this adventure called life.

2. I am a Maritimer from Nova Scotia, and the ocean has the ability to calm and soothe me like nothing else. I also love maple trees, wooded trails, mountains, and waterfalls. Living in Saskatchewan, I don’t see a lot of those things regularly, so I need to get my “fix” during family vacations.

3. I LOVE kids! I have volunteered with kids at my church for many years, I am an elementary school teacher (part-time/casual these days), and I also taught piano lessons for several years. I am basically a big kid myself trapped in a adult’s body, and maybe that’s why I can relate to them so well. If I’m at a party, you’ll often find me hanging out with the kids instead of the adults! My own children, two beautiful girls ages 10 and 7, are the joy of my life!

4. My favourite movie is The Princess Bride, and I am also a Superman fan. My husband and I are loyal followers of the Amazing Race.

5. I don’t like peanut butter or watermelon, which I know makes me unusual! My favourite foods are pasta and seafood.

6. I love music. I play piano, sing, and have been known to write the occasional song (both serious and silly). I feel there is a song for every occasion, and if not, I’ll make one on the spot!

7. I try to conduct my business with great customer service and professionalism, but those who know me also know that I love to laugh and have fun. I have a lot of energy, and a pretty upbeat personality. I will do almost anything to make my clients laugh and enjoy their session (ask silly questions, make animal noises, pretend to fall down, you name it)! A client once told me that their family photoshoot with me was the most fun they had ever had at a photo session, and I saw that as the biggest compliment! I aim to get you great photos, but even more than that, I try to make it fun and an enjoyable experience for everybody. I don’t want forced smiles and awkward poses.

I love many styles and genres of photography. My biggest passions are newborn and fine art maternity, but I also thoroughly enjoy cake smash and family sessions, as well as graduation sessions and professional headshots! There is something unique and rewarding about all of these styles! I am a people-person, so I enjoy meeting and working with many different people. I don’t shoot weddings or boudoir, but I will do just about anything else!
